Role Overview:
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day running of the nursery, supporting the Nursery Manager in maintaining high standards of care, learning, and safety. You will help lead a dedicated team, support curriculum planning and ensure compliance with EYFS and safeguarding regulations. This is a full time role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the effective management of the nursery, stepping up in the absence of the Nursery Manager
- Support staff development and performance through mentoring and coaching
- Help implement and maintain an enriching curriculum that includes outdoor, nature-based learning in our Forest School
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Ensure high standards of safeguarding, health, and safety are consistently met
- Participate in inspections and contribute to continuous improvement planning
- Be a positive role model and contribute to a collaborative, enthusiastic team culture
Person Specification:
- Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Childcare
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a nursery or early years setting
- Passion for outdoor learning and experience with or interest in Forest School practice
- Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A warm, nurturing approach with a focus on child-centred care

Pay: £28,500.00-£30,381.00 per year
