We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company seeking a skilled CNC Miller - Programmer, Setter & Operator to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to work on high-precision components using modern 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines, with the chance to further develop your technical skills in a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machinery to produce precision-engineered components to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines
- Working on both 3-axis and 5-axis machining centres
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Producing complex precision components to tight tolerances
- Using a variety of measuring and inspection equipment
- Selecting and managing cutting tools for optimum machining performance
- Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience as a CNC Miller Programmer, Setter and/or Operator
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Good understanding of cutting tools and machining practices
- Reliable, organised, safety-conscious and proactive approach to work
Desirable
- Experience with Heidenhain controls
- Previous experience operating 5-axis machinery
