We are looking for an organised and proactive Operative & Compliance Coordinator to support site compliance, operative welfare and health and safety standards across the business.
This is a part-time role of 20 hours per week. We are open to discussing how these hours are worked, provided the agreed pattern meets the needs of the business.
This role would suit someone with a background in Health & Safety, compliance, site coordination, construction, maintenance or repairs. Site safety experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential, as additional training will be provided.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Acting as a key point of contact for operatives on compliance, health and safety, PPE, uniform, training and welfare matters.
- Monitoring site compliance through regular visits, audits and inspections.
- Maintaining accurate records for operatives and subcontractors, including certifications, training, toolbox talks, onboarding documents and compliance checks.
- Organising and delivering toolbox talks on safety practices, regulatory updates and company procedures.
- Supporting subcontractor onboarding by checking required documents, training records and certification evidence before site attendance.
- Assisting with incident and accident reporting, including documentation, investigation support and follow-up actions.
- Reporting non-compliance, safety risks, welfare concerns or incidents to management promptly.
- Liaising with office staff and site teams to ensure the correct paperwork, resources and documentation are in place.
- Supporting ongoing training to help site teams remain compliant with current regulations and company standards.
- Promoting a positive safety culture across the business.
Essential Requirements
- Clean driving licence.
- Health & Safety background or understanding.
- Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements, training records or compliance documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills.
- Confidence communicating with office staff, operatives and subcontractors.
- Ability to follow processes and raise concerns where required.
- Comfortable carrying out site visits, audits and compliance checks.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Previous site safety experience.
- Experience working in construction, maintenance, repairs or social housing.
- Experience conducting toolbox talks or site inspections.
- Experience with subcontractor onboarding or compliance checks.
