The Garden Suite is the events venue at our established Pontlliw site, with capacity for up to 140 guests in a beautiful private garden setting just off the M4. We're growing our events business and looking for an Events Sales Manager to lead it.
You'll own the inquiry-to-booking pipeline, be the face of the venue at every viewing and event showcase, and work closely with our experienced kitchen and operations team to deliver brilliant events across every category — corporate dinners, milestone celebrations, funeral receptions, weddings, christenings, and everything in between.
What you'll do
- Handle every inbound event enquiry across all categories
- Run venue viewings and convert prospects into confirmed bookings
- Build and maintain a CRM of leads, suppliers, and past clients
- Attend events showcases, trade shows and networking events across South Wales (8–12 a year, including some weekends)
- Build relationships with funeral directors, corporate buyers, wedding planners, registrars, florists, and other referral partners
- Lead our corporate Christmas party sales push each spring/summer
- Run quarterly tasting events and open evenings
- Work hand-in-glove with the head chef and operations team to make sure every event is delivered brilliantly
- Collect testimonials, reviews, and content for marketing
Who we're looking for
- At least 2 years' events sales experience — venue side, hotel side, or catering side
- A track record of hitting booking and revenue targets (please share specifics in your application)
- Comfortable selling across the full spectrum — corporate, private celebrations, funeral receptions, weddings — adapting tone naturally to each
- Genuinely warm, calm, and trustworthy
- Confident on the phone, in person, and writing tailored proposals
- Comfortable working independently
- An existing local network in South Wales is a real advantage
- Driving licence and own transport essential
- Comfortable with some weekend and evening work — compensated with TOIL during the week
