HJ Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established children's residential home in Kidderminster.
This is a 3-bed home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The home provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people can feel secure, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
They are now looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join their dedicated team and play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home.

You'll work closely with the Registered Manager, helping to lead the team, maintain high standards of care and ensure the home continues to provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment for the young people.
There is also a fantastic opportunity to progress into a Registered Manager position, making this an ideal role for someone looking to develop their career and take on greater responsibility within children's residential care.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Leading and motivating the residential care team to provide consistently high standards of care.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with the young people and acting as a positive role model.
- Supporting young people with their daily routines, education, activities and personal development.
- Taking responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and daily records are completed to a high standard.
- Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of the young people is always prioritised.
- Working closely with families, social workers, education professionals and other external agencies.
- Supporting staff development through supervision, guidance, coaching and leading by example.
- Helping to maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations, policies and quality standards.
- Contributing to a positive, stable and nurturing culture within the home.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who combines strong leadership skills with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
You'll ideally have:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (essential).
- Previous experience working within a children's residential care setting.
- Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
- Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's residential care standards.
- A caring, patient, resilient and child-centred approach.
- Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- The confidence to lead a team and make decisions when required.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins where required.
