Software Developer / BMS Application Engineer
We are looking for an qualified Software Developer who is ready for a change and wants to broaden their career into Building Management Systems (BMS), smart buildings and product development — without wasting the software knowledge and experience they have already gained.
With rapid advances in AI and AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude, traditional software development is changing quickly. We believe the future lies with hybrid engineers who combine software, AI and data skills with practical engineering knowledge and real-world applications.
This career change will require retraining and a commitment to learning a new engineering discipline. In return, the company is prepared to invest in the successful candidate, providing the training, mentoring, qualifications and ongoing support required to develop into a skilled BMS Application Engineer.
You will be trained in BMS, HVAC controls, networking, BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, JSON, APIs and smart building technologies, while continuing to use and develop your existing software skills.
We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys product development, solving technical problems and turning new ideas into working solutions.
This isn't about leaving software development behind. It's about building on what you already know and investing in the skills you will need for the future.
Pay: £30,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
