As our business expands, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Design Engineer to join our experienced engineering team.
The Role
This position has been created to support our growing workload and offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within engineering.
Working closely with our design and manufacturing teams, you will be responsible for preparing quotations for customers, supporting engineering activities, and ensuring accurate information is communicated throughout the production process. The role requires both teamwork and the ability to work independently.
Full training will be provided, and for the right candidate there will be clear opportunities to progress into a fully-fledged engineering position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue customer quotations.
- Organise and maintain job documentation and job sheets.
- Liaise with customers and tooling suppliers when required.
- Provide shop floor engineers with drawings, charts, and technical information to support production activities.
- Assist Design Engineers with day-to-day engineering and design tasks.
- Ensure accurate communication and implementation of engineering designs.
Essential Requirements
- Experience using SolidWorks to create and develop engineering designs.
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience using CAD software.
- Engineering or manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential.
