The Role
We are currently recruiting a Depot Fitter to join our Hire Operations team in Dudley. This is a hands‑on role working on the build, fit‑out, maintenance, and repair of our site welfare cabins, containers, and towable units.
Working alongside electricians, joiners, and other departments, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our fleet is built and maintained to Garic’s high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit, repair, and maintain site welfare units, cabins, and modular products
- Carry out first and second fix electrical installations (230v and 12v systems)
- Assist with general multi‑trade tasks including stud work, boarding, and trimming
- Support testing, commissioning, and initial verification of installations
- Work from production drawings and specifications
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
- Use power tools and equipment safely and in line with best practice
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production demands
About You
Essential:
- Experience in a multi‑trade or workshop‑based environment
- Practical, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment
- Positive attitude and strong team ethic
Desirable:
- Experience in hire repair or reactive maintenance
- Experience within site welfare or modular buildings
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing
