Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Night Health Care Officer to provide high-quality care and support during overnight shifts within a care home environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of residents, while maintaining compliance with care plans and organisational policies. Duties
- Monitor and assist residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans and document all actions accurately.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing first aid or calling for additional support when necessary.
- Supervise and support junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment.
- Maintain detailed records of resident care, incidents, and observations using IT systems.
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Assist with organising activities or routines that promote residents’ comfort and engagement during night hours.
- Ensure the safety of the premises by conducting regular checks and reporting any hazards or concerns.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable.
- Supervising or leadership experience within healthcare environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in IT systems utilised for record keeping and reporting.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties related to resident outings or appointments.
This role requires a compassionate individual with excellent organisational skills, capable of supervising staff effectively while maintaining high standards of resident care during night shifts.
