Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals within care homes or providing home care services. Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Supporting clients with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Helping clients follow care plans designed to meet their individual needs
- Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Administering medication in accordance with prescribed guidelines (training provided if required)
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Communicating effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
- Assisting with light domestic tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Driving clients to appointments or outings as needed (where applicable)
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Good understanding of care plans and the ability to adapt support accordingly
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and records
- Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and team members
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation of clients
