We are seeking a talented and experienced Indian Chef to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing authentic Indian dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes with authentic flavours and presentation standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high standards of food production and service.
- Manage food preparation processes, including ingredient sourcing, portion control, and waste minimisation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock rotation efficiently.
- Uphold hospitality standards by demonstrating professionalism and fostering a positive team environment.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment specialising in Indian cuisine.
- Extensive knowledge of food production techniques specific to Indian dishes.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
- Excellent food preparation and cooking skills, with attention to detail in presentation.
- Solid kitchen experience with a thorough understanding of food safety protocols.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly within hospitality settings specialising in Indian or Asian cuisines.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with team members and front-of-house personnel.
