Qualified Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester
Location: Huddersfield, HD1 area
Salary: £35,000–£42,000 per year depending on experience
Plus: Performance-related bonus + paid overtime

About the Role
A well-established, award-winning independent garage in Huddersfield is looking for an experienced and qualified Vehicle Technician to join its team.
We're looking for a capable all-round technician who is confident carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs to a high standard.
This is a permanent, long-term position within a busy and well-equipped independent workshop with an established team.
An MOT Testing Licence would be a strong advantage, but is not essential.
The Role
The work is varied and will include:
- Servicing and routine maintenance
- General mechanical repairs
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- Brakes and suspension
- Clutches and timing belts
- Vehicle inspections
- MOT testing if qualified
- Accurately recording work carried out
- Working with the wider team to ensure vehicles are completed properly and on time
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship and believes in diagnosing and repairing vehicles properly.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- A recognised motor vehicle qualification
- Good experience working as a Vehicle Technician
- Strong servicing and mechanical repair skills
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- The ability to work confidently and independently
- Good attention to detail
- A professional and reliable approach
- Full UK driving licence
MOT Testing Licence advantageous but not essential.
