Scallywags Day Nursery in Oakham currently have vacancies for Early Years Practitioners, that are ideally qualified to at least Level 2 in Childcare, preferably Level 3. We are looking for qualified part-time staff members, and can offer a range of hours including Lunch Cover. For the right person we can also consider a full-time position.

A Qualified Early Years Practitioner is required, to:
- Provide Children with a safe, secure and stimulating environment
- Plan, organise and implement a programme of activities in line with the EYFS framework to meet the needs of the children within their age group
- Ensure observations/ evaluations are regularly completed and records are kept up to date
- Operate a keyworker system and liaise with parents/carers about their child’s development and encourage them to participate in their child’s learning and development
- Work as part of a highly motivated and professional team
Ideally you will need to:
- Hold a full and relevant early years and childcare qualification at Level 3 or above (such as NVQ Level 3 in CCLD, Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce), or equivalent qualification
- Have gained experience within a nursery setting
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
- Good knowledge and understanding of OFSTED policies and regulations
- Good knowledge of Child Protection, Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Ability to work well within a team as well as using own initiative
- Have good communication skills

The working hours are between 15 and 40 hours per week, shift patterns from 7:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
All employment is offered subject to the completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, 2 written references and a 3 month probationary period.
