Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Exterior Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the appearance and protection of building exteriors through high-quality painting and decorating work. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, in a professional environment. Applicants should possess a keen eye for detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must have previous experience working on exterior period propertiers.
Roles will include preparation, filling, making good, taping up and painting of exterior windows and masonry and metalwork.
Must have a strong initiative, good work ethic focusing on progressing different contacts and tasks. Also must be able to take direction.
We have been trading for 25 years and have a large amount of exterior work to get though this year and Im looking for a team player.
Responsibilities
MUST HAVE A VILID UTR AND NI NUMBER
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Applying paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to exterior surfaces such as walls, windows, doors, fanciers and metalwork
- Protecting surrounding areas by covering with masking tape or drop cloths before painting
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard within specified timeframes
- Maintaining health and safety standards on site at all times
- Communicating effectively with me and the clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise
- Keeping the site tidy and safe.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating, particularly exterior work
- Valid driving licence is preferred for travel between sites
- Good command of English language for effective communication with clients and team members
- Strong communication skills to understand client needs and collaborate with colleagues
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure neatness and durability of finishes
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to painting and decorating tasks
