Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire – Stonefall Crematorium
We are looking to recruit a strong, experienced manager to lead our team at Stonefall Crematorium in Harrogate. You will join a Bereavement Service which is responsible for four crematoria, 20 cemeteries and around 80 closed churchyards across North Yorkshire.
Responsible for your own crematorium and associated cemeteries, you will work closely with the Bereavement Service Manager and managers of the other three crematoria. You will lead and manage a compassionate and effective funeral, cremation and burial service at Stonefall Crematorium, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation. Responsible for several staff, you will ensure that they are trained and competent to carry out their multi-faceted roles and are empathetic and considerate in their interactions with the bereaved and other members of the public.
You will build effective working relationships with Funeral Directors, a Jewish Burial Authority, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, other faith leaders and departments across the Council to ensure that the bereaved receive a service that is second to none. As part of the Bereavement Service Management team, you will contribute to the strategic aims of the service and provide operational cover and resilience across the service.
