Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Chef to oversee culinary operations during daytime shifts. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service during day shifts
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met & work between Cardiff & Bridgend sites
- Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and company policies
- Coordinate daily menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management
- Monitor kitchen operations to optimise productivity and minimise waste
- Train and mentor team members in culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with hygiene standards
- Assist in developing new menu items and special offerings to enhance customer experience
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality settings is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and management
- Passion for culinary arts with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
- Previous experience in restaurant or catering environments is preferred but not essential
