About the Role The Miller of Mansfield is an independently managed pub with rooms in the scenic riverside village of Goring-on-Thames. We're looking for a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team for the summer and beyond.
You'll run your own section with confidence, take ownership of your prep, and support the kitchen team through busy service. We're a small, close-knit kitchen that takes pride in honest, well-cooked food. Our menu balances classic pub favourites with seasonal, thoughtful dishes, and there's always something on.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running your section confidently through prep and service
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chefs day to day
- Keeping standards, consistency and food hygiene high
- Contributing ideas for specials and seasonal updates
- Assisting with stock rotation, deliveries and waste control
- Working as part of a team, including during occasional big events
What We're Looking For
- Comfortable running a section as a CDP, ideally in a fresh-food kitchen
- Enjoys honest cooking and cares about consistency
- Stays calm under pressure when it gets busy
- Reliable, punctual and happy to muck in
- Communicates clearly with the kitchen and front of house
- Understands allergen awareness and getting the details right
- Flexible to work morning prep, evenings, weekends and the occasional bank holiday

The Miller is a 5-minute walk from Goring & Streatley station, with direct trains to Reading (15 mins) and Oxford (30 mins). One thing worth knowing: our postcode (RG8) can show up as Reading on job sites - we're actually a village a few stops up the line, so please make sure the commute works for you before applying.
