BUTCHER – ROBERTS BUTCHERS, CHANDLER’S FORD
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate butcher to join our brand new traditional butchers in the heart of Chandler’s Ford. If you take pride in proper butchery, enjoy engaging with customers, and want to be part of a friendly, community‑focused team, this could be your next move.
About the Role
- Full time, permanent position (part time hours considered)
- £30,000–£38,000 per annum, depending on experience
- 5 day working week (Monday–Saturday with 1 weekday off), 44 hours

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing, cutting, and presenting a range of fresh meats to high traditional standards
- Serving customers with confidence, friendliness, and expert product knowledge
- Advising on cuts, cooking methods, and meal ideas
- Managing stock rotation, hygiene, and food safety compliance
- Supporting seasonal displays, counter presentation, and product development
- Upholding the Roberts Butchers reputation for quality, honesty, and craftsmanship
- Taking responsibility for the shop when the manager is off, ensuring smooth daily operations
What We’re Looking For
- Proven butchery experience (retail butchery preferred)
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of carcass breakdown
- Ability to work cleanly, safely, and efficiently
- Excellent customer service and communication
- A proactive, tidy, and reliable approach
- Passion for traditional butchery and quality local produce
- Willingness to put in the extra when needed to support the team and the shop
- Confidence to lead the team when required
