Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the daily operations of our vibrant nursery. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality childcare, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and assisting the Nursery Manager in leading a team of early childhood professionals. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with management experience and a passion for working with children to develop their leadership skills within a supportive setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing the smooth running of the nursery, including staff supervision and organisation
- Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and nursery policies
- Contribute to planning and implementing engaging activities that promote children's development and learning
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and wellbeing
- Step in to manage daily operations in the absence of the Nursery Manager
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Uphold high standards of childcare, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 years
Experience
- Proven management or leadership experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Extensive nursery experience with a strong understanding of child development principles
- Working knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and childcare regulations
- Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between sites or attending external meetings
- Fluency in English is essential for effective communication with team members and families

Pay: £36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
