In Toto Ed London is part of a group of registered Independent Special Schools and Alternative Provision settings, supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and mental health (MH) needs. We provide a structured, supportive and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, develop resilience and re-engage with learning.
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can support students, act as a positive role model and go above and beyond to support their development.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students, helping them to develop confidence, teamwork and emotional regulation. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to support student progress both in and out of lessons.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, building relationships and using sport as a tool for engagement and development.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support
- Support students during lessons to help them engage with learning
- Work alongside teachers to deliver differentiated support
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources
- Encourage student participation and independence
Student Support
- Build strong, positive relationships with students
- Support students’ social, emotional and behavioural development
- Assist students during periods of dysregulation and promote emotional regulation
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
Behaviour and Pastoral Support
- Support behaviour in line with the school’s Behaviour Policy
- Help maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment
- Act as a consistent and positive role model for students
Whole School Contribution
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
- Support enrichment activities and wider school programmes
- Provide cover and support where required
- Attend staff meetings, training and school events
- Be willing to get stuck in and go above and beyond to support students
Administration
- Support with record keeping and student progress tracking
- Contribute to meetings and school systems
- Follow all school policies and procedures

Experience working in education, youth work or a similar setting would be beneficial but is not essential.

Pay: £22,000.00-£27,250.00 per year
