Job Type: Part-time, fixed term (9-month contract with possibility to extend or make permanent)
Hours: 25 hours per week to be worked over 5 days , 7:30am to 12:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £34,000 to £37,000 FTE

Palais is a landscape and horticultural practice working across London and the UK. We design, install and care for distinctive gardens and planting in private residences, hospitality settings, commercial spaces, private residential estates and the public realm.
Our work is bold, site-specific and rooted in a deep understanding of plants. We create landscapes that are visually striking but also healthy, resilient and responsive to the seasons. Many of the spaces we design remain under our long-term care, allowing us to develop and improve them over time.
Palais is not a conventional gardening company. We combine strong design ideas with skilled, practical horticulture and expect a high standard of care, presentation and attention to detail. Our gardeners play a central role in protecting the design intention, understanding how each landscape should develop and identifying opportunities to make it better.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Gardener to play a key role in delivering the exceptional plant care and presentation standards that define our work. Working closely with the Horticultural Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of indoor and outdoor planting installations across client sites, ensuring every display remains healthy, vibrant and visually outstanding. This is a hands-on role requiring horticultural knowledge, a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will represent the company on-site, building positive relationships with clients while consistently delivering a high standard of service and care.
Role Responsibilities
● Routine Maintenance: Performing consistent, scheduled care and upkeep of indoor and outdoor plant installations, in line with the Company's in-house horticultural and design standards.
● Health Monitoring: Inspecting plants for signs of pest, disease, or environmental stress, and responding promptly and appropriately to any issues identified.
● Aesthetic Management: Maintaining the visual quality and seasonal relevance of planting schemes, adjusting arrangements and care as needed to reflect seasonal change and design intent.
● Reporting: Providing timely, accurate feedback to the studio team on site conditions, plant health, required materials or replacements, and any recommended follow-up actions.
● Communication: Maintaining clear and proactive communication with the studio team throughout each engagement, including flagging issues, delays, or access constraints as they arise.
