We are looking for a CAD Technician to join the UHS Estates Limited. Building Information Team to help manage, maintain and operate an AutoCAD / ArchiCAD based system covering the Trust’s properties and associated services.
Based at UHS day-to-day, you will update the Trust’s records by capturing, collating, editing and maintaining our "as built" record information into a single CAD ‘model’ for each building. Tracking changes made through our Capital Development or Estate Maintenance programmes, you will be surveying rooms, wards, plant rooms or whole buildings to validate documented information and updating Space Plans.
As part of a team you will ensure the UEL mechanical, electrical, building and fire safety drawings are maintained and updated when projects have been completed, helping to keep our staff and patients safe.
You may produce feasibility drawings for new works including associated information i.e. graphical detail and systems schedule as designed by others, and prepare site plans as required by the Trust solicitors for HM Land Registry.
Once you have gained some experience, you will provide technical support to UEL and Trust's annual returns for space utilisation and services information including updating the Planon facilities management system as well as be an integral part of developing our Building Information Modelling (BIM) system and associated asset data.

As a qualified CAD Technician, you will work as part of a specialist team delivering accurate and meaningful graphical information to the Estates, Facilities and Capital Development Department (EFCD), and wider UHS team (clinical & non-clinical), thereby ensuring patient and staff safety throughout the Hospital.
Our data sources are many and varied. From handwritten annotation to 3D BIM data delivered to recognised standards (PAS1192 and BS EN ISO19650), the role requires you to interrogate the data, seek clarification from our teams and deliver high quality results in a timely manner.
We expect you to be competent in the use of day-to-day supporting technologies, such as SharePoint and Office365, but also adept with specialist software for the management of people, places and data. In particular, we use Autodesk products (AutoCAD, AEC), with opportunities to learn Graphisoft ArchiCAD, Planon and other facilities management/work management systems.
You will be expected to undertake regular mandatory training for your own safety, and that of our patients and staff.
