Early Years Practitioner – Maternity Cover
About the role
Little Beehive Nursery Strathkinness is looking for a fully qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team on a maternity cover basis.
This is a part-time position working 19 hours per week across Monday and Tuesday.
We are looking for someone who is caring, enthusiastic and professional, with a genuine passion for supporting children to learn, develop and thrive through play.
What you’ll be doing
As an Early Years Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment
- Supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing
- Planning, preparing and reviewing the curriculum alongside the team within your room
- Providing engaging, child-centred learning and play experiences
- Working in partnership with parents and families
- Building positive and nurturing relationships with children
- Following all Little Beehive Nursery policies and procedures
- Supporting high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing
- Working collaboratively as part of the wider nursery team
- Contributing positively to the day-to-day life of the nursery
What we’re looking for
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People), or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Previous experience of working with children
- A warm, caring and professional approach
- Good organisational skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to providing high-quality early learning and childcare
You should be someone who is friendly, organised, creative and dependable, with a genuine interest in helping children develop confidence, independence and curiosity.
