Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electrical Test Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and validating electrical components and systems to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience with various tools and testing procedures. This position is suitable for experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Initial verification & periodic inspection: Conduct comprehensive inspection and testing of new electrical installations in food production based enviroments.
- Certification: Produce accurate, high-quality Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC) and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) using industry-standard software.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical works meet BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
- Fault finding: Identify, document and oversee the rectification of any deviations or defects within electrical systems.
Requirement & Qualifications:
- Qualifications: Must be fully qualified with City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) in inspection and testing.
- Certification: Gold JIB/ECS card holder.
Skills
- Proven experience working with hand tools and power tools used in electrical testing environments.
- Strong electrical experience, including knowledge of circuit theory, wiring, and component functionality.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tests efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards.
- Effective communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate with team members. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a solid foundation in electrical systems. Candidates should be organised, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to quality assurance processes within a dynamic engineering environment.
