Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Tramper to join our logistics team. This role involves long-distance driving and tramping across various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating either container or curtain sider vehicles, maintaining compliance with road safety regulations, and managing delivery documentation. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, primarily container or curtain sider vehicles, across national routes
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety protocols
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and warehouse staff
- Comply with all legal requirements related to driving hours and tachograph regulations
- Assist with the securement of loads on flatbed trailers to prevent movement during transit
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with either containers or curtain sider vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for long-distance haulage
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules and paperwork effectively
- Ability to operate a lorry safely over extended periods and across diverse terrains
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Flexibility to undertake varied routes and adapt to changing schedules as required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 55 – 65 per week
