Quantity Surveyor - Lincoln - Permanent - up to £65K DOE
Our client are a leading provider in their field working on project across the UK. Due to continued business growth they are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. You will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from procurement through to final account. You will work closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered within budget and commercial risks are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
- Preparing and reviewing valuations, applications for payment and payment notices.
- Preparing, managing and agreeing variations and change orders.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts.
- Preparing cost reports, forecasts and cash-flow information.
- Assisting with procurement and subcontractor tendering.
- Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor quotations and contracts.
- Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation.
- Working closely with site and project management teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensuring contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- A good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and variations.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
- A proactive approach to identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial qualification is desirable, although relevant industry experience will also be considered
