Young at Heart Community Project is recruiting an Intergenerational Project Worker to work alongside the Project Manager to encourage intergenerational practice across North Staffordshire.
Salary: SCP 21 £21,791.19 pro rata, per annum
Fixed Term Contract until 31st July 2029
20 hours per week
The role will involve working with local schools, care homes and nurseries and partnering with other charities to facilitate an exciting timetable of activities.
We are looking for someone who understands the importance of intergenerational work, both for the older and younger people of our communities, and someone who is motivated and passionate about making things happen, with the community and our service users at the heart of this.
You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to think outside the box to make the most of the opportunities available. You will have full support of the Project Manager but be able to work on your own initiative.
We require someone with a full driving licence and who can speak a good standard of English, given the nature of the role and working with extreme ages.

Purpose of Job: To plan, deliver and co-ordinate Intergenerational Activities throughout North Staffordshire with the aim of bringing older and younger people together for the benefit of all involved, thereby reducing social isolation, loneliness, breaking down age related stereotypes, and building empathetic communities through mutual learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteers
· To assist the Project Manager in the promotion, recruitment, and development of volunteers working with VAST and Support Staffordshire for the intergenerational work where needed.
Admin support
· Support the Project Manager with administrative tasks, including feeding back to funding providers.
· Facilitate consultation within the intergenerational groups to ensure that the changing needs of the community are met and compile reports for the Project Manager.
