Contract: Self-Employed (School Term Time Only)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, energetic, passionate and reliable Sports Coach to join our growing team, delivering high-quality PE lessons and sports coaching within a primary school in Billericay.
This is a term-time, self-employed position for 4 hours every Monday afternoon, with the opportunity for additional work as the company continues to grow.
You will be responsible for delivering PE lessons and sports sessions that follow the National Curriculum, teaching the sport or activity assigned for that school term.
This is more than just a coaching role, it’s an opportunity to inspire children, develop their confidence, and become part of an ambitious and expanding coaching team.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, well-organised and enjoyable PE lessons and sports sessions to primary-aged children while creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
You will be expected to:
- Deliver high-quality PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Deliver the sport or activity assigned for each school term.
- Adapt sessions to suit different ages, abilities and learning needs.
- Build children’s confidence, teamwork and enjoyment through sport.
- Maintain excellent behaviour management throughout every lesson.
- Ensure all sessions are safe, organised and professionally delivered.
- Set up and pack away equipment efficiently.
- Be an outstanding role model through your attitude, enthusiasm and professionalism.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering PE within primary schools.
- Experience teaching a wide range of sports and activities at Primary School level.

- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to engage, motivate and inspire children of all abilities.
- Relevant coaching qualification (Level 2 NGB preferred).
- Enhanced DBS Certificate.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Reliability is essential—we are looking for someone schools can depend on every week.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
The Opportunity
Although this role begins as a 4-hour Monday afternoon position, there is genuine potential to grow within the company.
As schools receive greater clarity around future PE and school sport funding, we anticipate further opportunities becoming available, making this an excellent pathway into a full-time or self employed senior coaching role for the right person.
