Senior Support Worker/ Support Worker - we are a small care home for young adults with Autism and associated differences. We have all previously worked for larger companies and gradually became disillusioned because the focus was on making profit and not on the quality of life experiences for the residents. Our staff are precious to us and we ensure that they are valued and well-supported. We never use agency staff and this gives the staff team stability and a strong family feel.
We are seeking a new team member who has a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in working with adults/children who have Autism, childhood trauma and/or associated learning difficulties. Wellhead Lane provides a calm and friendly environment - we do not deal with severe challenging behaviour and therefore do not manage situations with physical restraint.
We require either full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time staff (minimum 15 hours per week)
Qualifications in care(Level 2) would be desirable but a full induction and on-going training will be provided. All staff will need to have or will be supported to gain the Diploma Level 3 in Adult Social Care.
The senior role will involve leading shifts, so some supervisory/management experience is desirable. Staff will be expected to encourage our young people to become as independent as possible by helping them to access a range of local community resources and activities.
A driving licence is necessary as the home is very busy with lots of activities taking place across the day. There will be the opportunity for further training, possible promotion, gym membership and private medical insurance after a qualifying period. As previously stated, the home aims to provide a low-key, calm environment with both staff and residents functioning as a quirky, extended family.
Be part of something really special and work for a company where you will be respected and valued.
