Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Floor Staff & Birthday Hosts. Reporting directly to the Floor Operations Manager, you will be the face of New Meta — assisting guests with gaming equipment, running fun and memorable birthday parties, maintaining the facility's cleanliness and organisation, and delivering exceptional customer service to enhance the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities — Floor Staff:
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, providing information about our gaming experiences and services.
- Assist guests with the proper use of gaming equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the facility, including resetting gaming stations and common areas.
- Monitor guest activity to ensure adherence to facility rules and promptly address any issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with team members and report to the Floor Operations Manager to facilitate smooth operations during events and peak hours.
- Handle guest inquiries and provide solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Assist in restocking and organising merchandise or concessions as needed.
Key Responsibilities — Birthday Host:
- Host and lead birthday parties and group bookings, keeping guests engaged, energised, and entertained throughout.
- Set up and reset private rooms and party areas before and after each booking, including decorations, seating, and gaming stations.
- Guide party guests (including children and teens) through games and activities, ensuring everyone is included and having fun.
- Coordinate party timings — gaming sessions, food, cake, and any add-ons — to keep bookings running smoothly and to schedule.
- Serve and manage party food and beverages, following food hygiene and safety standards.
- Liaise with parents, organisers, and the booking team to make sure each party's requirements are met.
- Handle any issues calmly and professionally to keep the celebration positive.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or events is preferred.
- Experience hosting parties, working with children, or running group activities is a strong advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a confident, outgoing personality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of gaming and esports is required.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light physical activities, such as cleaning and organising.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate peak business hours and party bookings.
- A DBS check may be required for roles involving work with children.
