About Stream Group
Stream Group is a specialist engineering and manufacturing company producing equipment for marine, industrial and defence applications.
This is not typical repetitive production-line work - our products involve a mixture of mechanical and electrical/electronic components and can include heating and cooling equipment, temperature-controlled equipment, vehicle systems, communications equipment and other specialist engineered products.
You could be working on different products and assemblies depending on the current production requirements.
We are looking for 1–2 practical, reliable Production / Assembly Operatives to join our team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your main responsibility will be helping to manufacture and assemble our products to the required standard.
Day-to-day work may include:
- Building products from components and sub-assemblies.
- Mechanical assembly.
- Basic electrical/electronic assembly.
- Fitting components, fixings, brackets and other parts.
- Using hand and power tools.
- Following drawings, diagrams and build instructions.
- Preparing components before assembly.
- Checking parts and completed work for quality.
- Carrying out basic testing where required.
- Packing and preparing completed products.
- Keeping your work area clean and organised.
- Reporting shortages, damaged components or build problems.
- Helping with general production and factory duties where required.
Because our products vary, you will need to be comfortable learning new builds rather than carrying out exactly the same task every day.
What We’re Looking For
Previous factory, assembly, manufacturing or engineering experience would be useful, but we are also interested in people with strong practical skills who are willing to learn.
You should be:
- Practical and comfortable using tools.
- Good with your hands.
- Able to follow instructions accurately.
- Able to work from drawings or diagrams, or willing to learn.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Careful and quality-focused.
- Organised in your work.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
- Willing to learn how different products are assembled.
- Happy to help with different jobs when production priorities change.
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Mechanical assembly
- Electrical assembly
- Electronics
- Wiring
- Engineering
- HVAC or refrigeration
- Automotive or vehicle work
- Manufacturing

- General workshop work
Formal qualifications are useful but practical ability, reliability and attitude are equally important to us.
