Job Description
As a Project Manager (Electrical), you will be responsible for the successful delivery of designated electrical contracts and work packages, ensuring activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Reporting to the Head of Site Operations, you will oversee engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities while working closely with site construction teams, contractors, suppliers, and key project stakeholders.
You will play a key role in managing electrical systems, infrastructure, protection, and distribution activities across one of the UK's most significant nuclear new-build programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
-
Lead the delivery of electrical engineering contracts and work packages from concept through to handover.

Ensure all activities are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical and business requirements.

Implement project delivery strategies aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).

Manage project scope, schedule, risks, costs, change control, and quality requirements.

Oversee Level 3 and Level 4 project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones.
Risk & Performance Management
-
Maintain project risk registers and mitigation plans.
-
Monitor and report project performance against cost, schedule, quality, and safety metrics.
-
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and project delivery.
-
Capture and implement lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
-
Build effective relationships with construction teams, contractors, consultants, and project partners.
-
Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
-
Facilitate meetings, workshops, and project reviews to support successful programme delivery.
-
Escalate programme risks, issues, and opportunities appropriately.
Electrical Engineering Oversight
-
Provide technical leadership and informed decision-making across electrical systems and infrastructure packages.

Support delivery of electrical distribution, protection systems, infrastructure, and associated site works.

Review engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with project requirements.

Coordinate interfaces between engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational teams.

Support procurement activities and contractor performance management.
-
Manage commercial risks, claims, variations, and contract change processes.

Work within NEC and FIDIC commercial frameworks.
Contract Management
-
Take direct accountability for contract management activities.
-
Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and escalate issues where required.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Proven project management experience within highly regulated industries.

Experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects from concept through handover.
-
Strong electrical engineering background with knowledge of power distribution and infrastructure systems.

Experience managing EPC/EPCM projects.
-
Contract management responsibility within major projects.
-
Construction delivery and site execution experience.
-
Experience managing cost, schedule, risk, quality, and change control processes.
-
Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams.
-
Strong stakeholder management skills across client, contractor, consultant, and supply chain organisations.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent military experience
Desirable Skills:
- Nuclear industry experience.

Major infrastructure or energy project experience.
-
Experience supporting new-build construction programmes.
-
Knowledge of nuclear quality requirements and assurance processes.
-
NEC and FIDIC contract experience.
-
Commercial claims and negotiation experience.
-
Experience working alongside construction and commissioning teams.
