This role is based in Doha, Qatar.
BQ Solutions is looking for an experienced Business Development & Bid Manager to identify, shape and secure strategic business opportunities across the defence, government and complex services sectors.
You'll take ownership of opportunities from initial market engagement through capture planning, bid management and contract award, working alongside technical, commercial and operational teams to deliver winning solutions. This role combines business development, bid leadership and commercial thinking to ensure every opportunity is pursued strategically and professionally.
What you'll be doing
- Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities
- Managing a structured opportunity pipeline from prospect through to award
- Developing capture strategies, win themes and compelling value propositions
- Leading high-quality bids, tenders and proposal submissions
- Building strong relationships with government and industry stakeholders
- Working closely with finance, legal and delivery teams to produce commercially competitive proposals
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify future opportunities
- Producing insightful pipeline and bid performance reporting for senior leadership
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SME environment and enjoys building opportunities from the ground up.
You'll bring:
- 5-10 years' experience in Business Development, Bid Management or Commercial roles
- Experience working within a Small or Medium Enterprise (SME), where adaptability, ownership and a hands-on approach are essential
- Proven experience leading successful bids and tender submissions
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of competitive procurement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A structured, organised approach with exceptional attention to detail
- Confidence engaging with senior clients and decision-makers
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Commercial Management, Economics or a related discipline
- APMP, CIPS or similar professional qualifications would be advantageous.
Pay: £65,000.00-£96,000.00 per year
