Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using both hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vehicles through thorough inspections and assessments. This position requires the ability to perform heavy lifting and maintain a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Perform thorough inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of tests conducted and any repairs made.
- Communicate findings clearly to customers, providing recommendations for necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Ensure that the testing area is kept clean and organised at all times.
- Stay updated with current regulations and best practices related to vehicle testing.
- You will be required to fit tyres and other ADHOC duties.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Current MOT Tester qualification (Class 4 minimum)
- Strong diagnostic and technical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Full UK Driving Licence
- A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
