Job Title: Front / Back of House Team Member

Reports to: Owner / Café Manager
Role Overview
We are looking for a friendly, confident member of staff to join our team at Viv’s Café in Goring — a small, busy café in the heart of the village.
This is a hands-on role where you will take orders, create drinks, serve customers. Some days you will be responsible of the floor by yourself , working closely with the kitchen staff. Ensuring the service is kept to a high standard and drinks are being made efficiently.
As a smaller café, this role goes beyond front of house. We work as one team, and there is very little separation between front and back of house. We are looking for someone who is happy learn the skills required in the kitchen too.
This role suits someone who enjoys a close-knit team environment, takes pride in their work, and is flexible in their approach.

Barista

Food and Drink Quality & Service
Maintain speed and efficiency without compromising quality
Stock & Cost Control
Manage stock ordering, deliveries, and supplier relationships
Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage and rotation (FIFO)
Standards & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
Maintain a clean, organised, and well-structured cafe
Implement and follow cleaning schedules
Team & Kitchen Support
Work closely with the team to ensure smooth service
Engage with customers and contribute to a positive atmosphere
Communicate clearly during busy periods
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Skills
Previous experience as a barista, front of house position or some kitchen experience preferred
Good leadership and team support skills
Ability to manage busy service while maintaining quality

Availability
Hours can full or part-time. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday required
Weekend and bank holiday availability required

Food safety certification (Level 2 or 3)
Experience in a café or brunch-focused kitchen

Pay: £11.00-£12.75 per hour
