Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pig Stockman/Woman to join our agricultural team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care, maintenance, and management of pig stock, ensuring their wellbeing and optimal productivity. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, combining animal husbandry with practical farm maintenance tasks. Duties
- Provide daily care and feeding for pigs, ensuring their health and wellbeing are maintained at all times.
- Monitor pig health and behaviour, recognising signs of illness or distress and reporting issues promptly.
- Assist with the cleaning and sanitation of pig enclosures to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with general farm maintenance tasks, including the use of hand tools and power tools for repairs or improvements.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or livestock management is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and basic farm machinery safely and effectively.
- Basic maths skills for inventory management, measurements, and record keeping.
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
