Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter – Hungerford Bistro

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join our small, welcoming team at our Hungerford bistro. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of the Bistro, which is customer facing and you will be supporting our chefs and helping us maintain the organised environment our guests rely on.
What you’ll be doing
- Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy, and running smoothly throughout service
- Washing pots, pans, utensils, and equipment
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Basic food preparation
- Receiving and organising deliveries
- Ensuring all areas meet food‑safety and hygiene standards
- Supporting the chefs with simple tasks during busy periods
- Cleaning fridges and keeping up with our strict hygene regime
- Assisting with FOH service from time to time.
