Cissy's Sandwiches is a brand-new independent sandwich shop in the heart of Ramsbottom. Our focus is simple, exceptional freshly prepared sandwiches, great coffee, quality ingredients and genuine hospitality.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and hands-on Retail Manager to help launch this exciting new venture.
This is a rare opportunity to join before opening, giving you the chance to recruit and develop your own team, establish the culture, implement policies and procedures from the beginning, and help shape how the business operates from day one.

Alongside leading the day-to-day operation of the business, you'll play an active role in food development and preparation, helping maintain exceptional quality and contributing ideas to continually improve our menu and customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
Retail Shop Management:
- Lead the successful day-to-day operation of Cissy's Sandwiches, ensuring high standards across customer service, food quality, cleanliness and shop presentation.
- Lead by example as a visible, hands-on manager, supporting all aspects of the business including food preparation, making coffee and serving customers.
- Recruit, train and develop a brand-new team, creating a positive, supportive and accountable working culture.
- Implement company policies, procedures and operational standards from the outset.
- Monitor stock levels, manage ordering, supplier relationships, invoice processing, payroll and payments.
- Identify opportunities to improve shop processes, customer experience and operational efficiency.
Team Leadership & Staff Development:
- Lead, support and motivate your team to deliver exceptional customer service and consistently high standards.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing staff development.
- Conduct regular staff check-ins and performance reviews.
- Manage staff rotas, annual leave and day-to-day staffing requirements.
- Encourage a collaborative team environment where everyone is willing to support each other and contribute ideas.
Customer Experience:
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience and help establish Cissy's Sandwiches as a valued part of the Ramsbottom community.
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally and proactively.
- Monitor customer feedback and online reviews, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
Sales, Marketing & Business Growth:
- Take ownership of the commercial performance of the business, driving sales, profitability and customer loyalty.
- Monitor sales performance, budgets, payroll costs, stock control and food waste.
- Manage social media activity, promotions and online ordering platforms, including Uber Eats.
- Work with the Business Director to develop seasonal specials, menu ideas and initiatives that support business growth.
Food Hygiene, Health & Safety:
- Ensure the business operates in line with UK food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records relating to food safety and staff training.
- Carry out regular checks to ensure a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Champion excellent food safety practices and ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
What You'll Bring:
Experience & Qualifications:
- At least 3 years' management experience within food service, catering or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Extensive experience working within a food-led business.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing high-performing teams.
- A good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Experience managing sales, stock and day-to-day business performance.
- Confidence using technology, social media and standard business software.
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum.

Where You'll Be:
The role is based at our new Cissy's Sandwiches shop in Ramsbottom.
The shop is expected to operate Monday to Saturday, with initial opening hours anticipated to be 8:00am–4:00pm. These may change as the business develops.
This is a full-time role working across five days, including regular Saturday working.
As a member of the Cissy Greens senior management team, you'll have genuine autonomy to lead the business whilst benefiting from the support of the Business Director, HR advisor, CG Wholesale and the Retail Manager at Cissy Green’s in Haslingden.
This is a hands-on role and will involve being actively present on the shop floor, preparing food, supporting your team and ensuring every customer receives an outstanding experience.
