Job Title: Yard Operative
Reporting to: Yard Manager
** Salary is dependent on Age, Qualifications and Hours Worked **
This is a manual labour job, working outside. It requires a person that is prepared to work outside in all weathers, is able to stay on their feet for extended hours and able to lift heavy items. Machinery is available and training will be provided for these, however, experience in using a forklift would be an advantage.
Role:
- To use the weighbridge to weigh customers materials and assess what is in the load
- To unload customers vehicles
- To sort metal into relevant sections within the yard using machinery as required
- Remove parts from cars as instructed by the Parts Manager, maintaining their quality to maximise sales
- Process Metal by cutting, stripping and manually dismantling
- Maintain Cleanliness of the Yard
- Complete maintenance checks on the equipment used
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements are followed by not only yourself, but the whole team
- Careful use of various machinery:
- Depollution centre
- Forklift
- Cropper
Training will be provided for all aspects of this role. No previous experience required. Just a proactive team player that wants a variety in their day!
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £17,274.40-£27,936.48 per year
