Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fork Lift Truck Driver to join our warehouse team in. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling operations, ensuring the safe and accurate loading and unloading of goods, and supporting overall warehouse functions. This role is vital to maintaining smooth logistics and inventory flow within our organisation, requiring a proactive approach and attention to safety standards.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately.
- Assist with shipping and receiving procedures, including verifying deliveries and preparing items for dispatch.
- Perform basic equipment repairs or report faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage according to safety guidelines.
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment to ensure operational safety and mechanical integrity.
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet operational deadlines.
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse or waste management environment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment.
- Familiarity with materials handling procedures, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse activities.
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for inventory counts and measurements.
- Previous waste management experience is advantageous but not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn.
