The Role
Lake District Farmers is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Operative to join our production team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the high standards of quality that are the hallmark of LDF. The successful candidate will be responsible for quality control, weighing up orders and ensuring products are prepared to specification and dispatched on time. Working closely with production and management teams, you will help ensure that all products meet company standards and customer expectations.
Experience is preferred, but it's not everything. We're looking for the right person - someone with a great attitude, a strong work ethic, and values that align with our team. If you're willing to learn and have the drive to succeed, we'll provide the training and support to help you develop into the role.
Contracted 40 hours weekly to be worked across Monday to Thursday; every Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.
Key responsibilities
- Weighing and checking orders for accuracy before dispatch.
- Assessing that customer specifications align with product produced.
- Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials, products, and packaging.
- Complete quality assurance records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with traceability and product sampling procedures.
- Support investigations into quality issues and implement corrective actions where required.
- Help maintain compliance with HACCP, food safety, and customer standards.
- Following health and safety and food hygiene regulations.
- Work closely with our production, dispatch and transport teams.
Requirements
Essential:
- Proactively work as part of a team and have a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a quality assurance, food production, or manufacturing environment.
- Food Hygiene qualification.
- Experience completing quality documentation and audits.
