Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester Required In Forest Hill, Greater London
Our client, a well-established family-run service centre in Forest Hill, Greater London, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join their friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced automotive technicians looking for stability, long-term career prospects, and a supportive working environment. The Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester will be a key part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and technical excellence.
Key benefits:
- Competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000, based on experience and skills
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm, with no weekend work
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 22 days after five years

Duties:
- Perform vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance to high standards
- Conduct MOT testing in compliance with DVSA regulations (qualification preferred)
- Carry out mechanical repairs, including clutches, timing belts, chains, and other components
- Use diagnostic scanners and electronic systems to accurately identify faults
- Assist with general workshop tasks to ensure smooth overall operations
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients
- Support continuous improvement and technological updates within the workshop
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester, ideally in a main dealer or independent garage
- Proficiency with diagnostics, electronic systems, and modern vehicle technology
- MOT certification is highly desirable but not essential
- Own tools and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, professional approach, and excellent communication skills
