This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with older people and wants to make a genuine difference to residents’ daily lives.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering a varied programme of meaningful, enjoyable and person-centred activities for our residents.
You will get to know our residents as individuals — their likes, dislikes, hobbies, interests, life stories and past experiences — and use this knowledge to create activities that are meaningful to them.
The role will include:
- Planning and delivering a varied weekly activities programme
- Organising individual and group activities
- Supporting residents to continue enjoying their existing hobbies and interests
- Encouraging residents to try new activities and experiences
- Organising music, quizzes, arts and crafts, baking, games, reminiscence, gardening and entertainment
- Arranging and supporting outings and trips into the local community
- Organising celebrations for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions
- Creating seasonal events and themed activity days
- Working with families and the local community to encourage involvement
- Inviting entertainers, community groups and local organisations into the home
- Supporting residents to maintain relationships and connections with their local community
- Encouraging participation while respecting residents’ choices when they do not wish to take part
- Supporting residents living with dementia to participate in appropriate, meaningful and enjoyable activities
- Recording activities and residents’ participation and feedback
- Identifying new opportunities and ideas based on residents’ changing interests and needs
We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable and understands that activities in a care home do not always fit into a set routine. You will need to be willing to adjust your working hours when required to support special occasions, birthdays, celebrations, community events, outings and other activities, helping us make sure our residents have the best possible experiences.
Previous experience in an activities role, care setting, community work or a similar environment would be an advantage. Most importantly, we are looking for the right person with the right attitude and a genuine passion for making a difference.
