We are looking for a friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic member of staff to join our team at the Fox & Hounds in Groton.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. The ideal candidate will be confident, sociable and approachable, with a natural ability to engage with customers and make them feel at home. You should be reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in, particularly during busy periods.
Previous bar or hospitality experience is preferred, but we are equally interested in someone with the right attitude, personality and willingness to learn. We value people who take initiative, work well as part of a team and are passionate about providing excellent customer service.

Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and promptly, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and dining areas throughout shifts.
- Provide attentive and friendly service, addressing guest needs professionally.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately, adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Restock bar supplies and monitor stock levels to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
- Comply with food safety regulations and responsible serving practices at all times.
- Assist in setting up tables, organising reservations, and managing guest flow during busy periods.
Requirements
You must be age 18 or over
- previous experience in hospitality is preferred. however, we are still looking for candidates without experience to train and make apart of the team!
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables or bar stations efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and giving correct change.
- Good time management skills to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
- A positive attitude with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
