Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility and daily routines in accordance with personalised care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents and clients
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents' conditions
- Support the organisation of activities and social engagement opportunities
- Ensure a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a care home or home care setting
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic nature
- Driving licence is desirable for those supporting home care clients or travelling between locations
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures to deliver personalised support effectively
- Organised, reliable, and able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism
