About Saltire Hospitality
Saltire Hospitality is an established, family-owned and family-led hospitality and catering business, founded in Edinburgh in 2000.
With more than 25 years of experience, we operate across a diverse hospitality environment, including events, catering, cafés and bakery operations. Our business continues to grow, and we are looking for an organised, reliable and experienced Finance & Accounts Administrator to join our team.
This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the business. You will work closely with the wider finance and operational teams, helping to ensure that our financial records are accurate, up to date and well maintained.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on finance role supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the business.
Responsibilities will include:
- General finance and accounts administration.
- Processing purchase and sales invoices.
- Supplier and customer account administration.
- Bank and supplier reconciliations.
- Assisting with credit control and month-end processes.
- Maintaining accurate financial records.
- Producing monthly café and bakery financial reports.
- Supporting the Finance Director and wider management team with financial information.
- Assisting with payroll administration where required.
Systems & Reporting
We use Xero accounting software across the business, so previous Xero experience would be advantageous.
We also use Dines throughout our hospitality operations. Experience with Dines or a similar hospitality system would be highly desirable, particularly for extracting sales information, assisting with reconciliations and supporting operational reporting.
Event & On-Site Finance Support
Although primarily a finance role, occasional attendance at events may be required, particularly larger public or high-volume events.
This may include setting up and supporting Dines payment machines, assisting with payment queries and supporting event reconciliations.
These events will be occasional rather than a regular requirement, but flexibility is important.
Cash & Change
As part of the role, you will also be responsible for weekly change orders, including arranging, collecting and delivering change.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential for this role.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a finance, accounts or finance administration role.
- Highly organised, accurate and detail-focused.
- Confident working with numbers and financial information.
- Comfortable using Xero, Excel and other finance systems.
- Previous Dines experience is desirable.
- Previous payroll experience would be advantageous.
- Able to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Professional and approachable when dealing with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
- Proactive, practical and willing to take ownership.
- Comfortable working in a busy hospitality environment.
- Flexible and willing to provide occasional on-site event support.
Essential Requirements
- Previous finance/accounts experience.
- Good understanding of basic accounting processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good IT and Excel skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own car.
- Ability to undertake weekly change collection and delivery requirements.
What We Offer
- 4-day working week
- 35 hours per week
- Salary from £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- A varied role within an established and growing hospitality business.
- A supportive, family-led working environment.
- Opportunities to develop your finance and accounting experience.
- The opportunity to contribute to improving processes and systems.
