Manthorpe Engineering are actively seeking skilled CNC machinists to join their existing team. Working on high quality, high integrity parts in a range of materials, you will be operating modern machine tools in class leading facilities, supporting the UK Defence Industry. We are looking for candidates with specific experience on 5 axis Mazak CNC multi tasking machines.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Machining of high integrity component parts and fabrications in a variety of materials (nickel alloys, stainless steels, titanium, aluminium, carbon steels).
- Programming, setting and operation of machines as required, including prove out of new programs.
- Work to an exacting quality standard to ensure parts are machined right first time and on time.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping to ensure the on-going cleanliness of the facilities.
- Ensure that route card instructions are followed and that all documentation is completed to company procedures.
- Use and interpret workshop measuring equipment
- Perform in cycle deburring of components where appropriate
- Perform periodic maintenance checks of equipment as appropriate
- Proactively identify and suggest improvement opportunities
- Ensure all working hours are accurately logged (direct and indirect hours)
Qualifications / Experience;
- Apprenticeship trained, time served, NVQ level 3, or higher
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively as part of a team
- Minimum 3 years experience in a precision machining role
- Be able to read and understand complex engineering drawings
- Experience of multiple control systems is preferred (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol)
- Experience of relevant industries, Nuclear, Power Generation, Aerospace
- Experience of working to high precision tolerances
- Experience of working with a wide range of materials
We have vacancies available across our machining areas covering CNC Milling (up to 5 axis mill-turn) and CNC Turning. Machine tools include DMG, Mazak, Toyoda, Okuma, Victor, Correa.
Pay rate is dependent on skills and experience.
Day Shift Hourly Rates - £17.82 - £21.17 / hour
Shift patterns available include;
- Day Shift Only
- Day & Night Shift rotation (Fortnightly, Night rate +33%)
- 39hrs per week basic
Overtime (+50%) is available where required including weekend working
Holiday entitlement - 33 days (including statutory)
