Who we are
Code Ninjas has the world’s largest number of kids' coding centres in three countries and continues to grow. Our goal is to help kids build a foundation in coding that will follow them through high school, post-secondary, and their careers. In our centre, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-
intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love.
What we are looking for
We are looking for Code Senseis to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinkers, all with the goal of providing a FUN, engaging, and safe learning environment for children. Our senseis are at the core of our centre, overseeing coaching and student engagement in our after-school drop-in programs, camps, and special events. Are you passionate about video games & tech? Do you enjoy working with kids? Are you looking to build invaluable skills for the future? This could be the role for you.
Responsibilities include:
- Training – go through the curriculum and learn it
- Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
- Work with children to determine skill sets
- Provide feedback to parents after working with student who is on a tour
- Follow opening/closing duties daily
- Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
- Report weekly to Center Assistant Manager on progress
- Report daily to Center Manager with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo
- Be able to lead on-site camps.
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up new concepts (Unity knowledge is an asset!)
- Upbeat and eager to take on new challenges and work in a collaborative group setting
- Excellent communication skills and experience in customer service
- Enthusiasm for working with kids.
- Works well with others; collaborates
- Must be fun to work with and like working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently
Desirable
- Working history with children ages 7 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
- Experience in teaching, mentoring or childcare
- Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
