Barista Wanted — Full-time / Part-time
Fōku is a new independent café in Stoke Newington, serving speciality coffee, Japanese tea, homemade cakes and seasonal drinks.
We are looking for one of our first team members to work closely with the founder and help shape the café from the beginning.
Pay: £13 per hour
Full-time: around 35 hours per week
Part-time: around 20 hours per week
Weekend availability is required.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We cannot provide visa sponsorship.
You should be able to:
- Operate a commercial espresso machine
- Understand basic espresso extraction
- Steam dairy and plant-based milk consistently
- Produce basic latte art
- Understand common coffee drinks
- Work efficiently while maintaining quality and good customer service
- Communicate with customers and colleagues in basic English
We do not require a fixed number of years of experience. Your practical skills will be assessed during the interview.
More importantly, we are looking for someone who is kind, responsible, willing to learn, open to feedback and comfortable asking questions when unsure.
An interest in Japanese tea, matcha and Japanese food culture would be a strong advantage.
