Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business.
£14.50 – £14.80 per hour
Shifts
The main shift pattern will be:
- Mornings: 06:00 – 14:00
- Afternoons: 14:00 – 22:00
- Nights: 22:00 – 06:00 may occasionally be required
- Friday: Early finish – 06:00–13:00 / 13:00–20:00
- Saturday: 06:00–12:00 if required
Some flexibility may be available for particularly strong candidates.
The Role
Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and reliability of mechanical plant and equipment.
Duties will include:
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Fault finding and reactive breakdown repairs
- Maintenance of mechanical plant and machinery
- Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Installation and modification of equipment
- Maintenance and repair of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors and pipework
- Supporting equipment improvements and upgrades
- Identifying causes of equipment failures and helping reduce downtime
- Working closely with production and engineering teams
- Following all site Health & Safety procedures
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience maintaining industrial machinery
- A hands-on, proactive approach to maintenance
- Good awareness of Health & Safety
